Lost Lives - BIFFL

1h 29m Documentary 2019

Inspired by the book of the same name that records the circumstances of every man, woman and child who died in a conflict - the Northern Irish Troubles - an obituary of 3,700 lives taken. Featuring an elegiac combination of high-end cinematography, a full orchestral score and readings from the book by an ensemble cast of leading Irish actors, the film is a requiem; a heartbreaking documentary which depicts the futility of this conflict. The narration is accompanied by scenes of archive news footage as well scenes of the Irish landscape.

The film highlights just 18 of the lives taken. The end credits list the names of all those who died during the Troubles and past the years after The Good Friday Agreement.
